Come and lose yourself in the UK’s Ultimate Kitchen Destination

For six generations, the family run business of Spillers has been serving customers across the South West of England and beyond. Whilst many things have naturally changed since our doors first opened in 1840, the timeless aspiration to combine excellent service with products that exude quality and value has remained ever present.

Today, Spillers are a leading kitchen and appliance destination with one of the finest showrooms in the country. Visitors can explore a vast 15,000 square foot labyrinth of ‘real’ kitchen settings, all bursting with hundreds of the world’s best love appliances.

The showroom is open six days a week and free parking is right outside.

The AGA Capital of the Country

It was 1932 when Spillers first began selling, installing and servicing the Aga family of iconic products. Nearly eight decades on, more people than ever are placing this legendary brand at the top of their kitchen wish list. New models like the Aga eR3 have made the Aga more accessible than ever before, with different sizes and more flexibility, but always with the same unmistakable ability to cook like only an Aga can.

The showroom at Spillers provides a fascinating Aga experience, with real working kitchens displaying lots of different models, to suit a variety of tastes and budgets. See all the colours, watch a delicious cookery demonstration or join our bakery school and get lots of technical and culinary advice.

A Kitchen Wonderland, with Inspiration around Every Corner

The kitchen is so much more than simply a place to prepare and eat food, this is the heart of your home and an integral part of everyday life.

At Spillers, we understand the importance of creating a space that offers more than great looks. The kitchen must be functional, enjoyable – as much a pleasure to relax in as it is to work in. Our designers will guide you from step one and your first forays into our showroom, right through to the final days of installation, advising on each aspect of the design, including work surfaces, appliances and even flooring.

THE SPILLERS TEAM

We believe passion is essential to what we do and who we are. We genuinely care about our products and customers and are all dedicated to provide the very best service from your journey in our showroom to the installation in your home.

OUR WEEE RECYCLING COMMITMENT

We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items when purchasing a new item from us. Please speak to a member of staff for details on how to dispose of your Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

Importance of Recycling

Did you know you can recycle your electrical and electronic devices for free at your local recycling centre? Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle electrical equipment, it will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the above symbol) in your bin.

Whether we’re installing a new appliance or just delivering to you, Spillers of Chard offer a full removal and responsible recycling service to our customers.

What is WEEE?

WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

An item is classed as being WEEE if it needs electricity to do what it is intended to do. The electricity can also come from a battery source. You can get several types of domestic and commercial WEEE, including large WEEE such as fridge freezers and washing machines, and small WEEE such as toasters and kettles. The WEEE Directive was introduced in 2006 to make manufacturers and retailers responsible for collecting and recycling WEEE. UK distributors (including retailers) are required to provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge.

As a responsible retailer, we have met these requirements by offering all customers buying new electrical and electronic equipment free take back of their old electricals on a like for like basis.

Recycling on Delivery

For a small transportation charge starting from £20 (depending on size and weight) we’ll be happy to take away your unwanted appliances for free recycling when we deliver the new like-for-like appliance from the following categories:

  • Built in Ovens – £20
  • Freestanding Range Cookers – £50
  • Small Fridge Freezers – £20
  • Large Fridge Freezers, Larder Fridges & Freezers – £50
  • Washing Machines, Washer Dryers and Tumble Dryers – £20
  • Dishwashers – £20

You will be able to discuss the recycling of your major appliance when placing an order by telephone or email, and indeed at any time during the ordering process prior to delivery.

During our delivery to you if you have any smaller household appliances such as sandwich toasters, kettles, food processors or vacuum cleaners, we’ll be happy to take these away for you free of charge for recycling. There is no need to request this free service with your order, however, it will be dependent on van space availability at the time of your delivery.

Our standard installation service is subject to the following conditions:

  1. We will only disconnect a like-for-like appliance. For example, if we are installing a freestanding appliance, we will only disconnect a freestanding appliance.
  2. If we are installing a built in appliance that requires a new housing to be installed as an extended optional service (subject to survey), we’ll be happy to take away either an unwanted built in or freestanding appliance for recycling.

Take Back in Store

Spillers will take back your unwanted electrical appliances of the same type as the one you purchased from us regardless of the brand or whether you purchased in-store, by phone or by email.

We will also take back items free of charge that have the same function as the item you purchased, for example, we’ll take back an old warming drawer when you buy a new one. Please note that we’ll make a small charge from £20 dependent on the size and weight of the unwanted machine to cover transport costs if we’re collecting items from your home. You have up to 28 days to bring back all types of electrical and electronic equipment that we sell. Please note: All major appliances must be dropped off at our showroom.

Very Small Electronic Equipment

‘Very small WEEE’ are items of waste electrical and electronic equipment that are less than 25cm on their longest side. We’ll be happy to take these machines in store for free, regardless of whether you’ve purchased anything from our store.

Please be aware that the new regulations don’t entitle you to free collection of WEEE from your home. Visit Recycle Now or contact your local council to locate your nearest recycling site for WEEE if you need to recycle an appliance yourself.
