Swirled Peanut Butter Brownies

Try these delicious gooey, chocolaty, swirled peanut butter brownies the perfect Sunday morning accompaniment to a hot cup of coffee or tea, loved by children and adults alike.


Ingredients

  • 6oz chopped butter
  • 4oz dark chocolate drops
  • 9oz soft light brown sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 4oz plain flour
  • 1oz cocoa powder

For The Peanut Butter Swirl

  • 1oz unsalted butter melted
  • 1.5 oz Sifted icing sugar
  • 3.5 oz smooth peanut butter
  • Half teaspoon vanilla extract.

Preparation

  1. Line an Aga 8inch square tin with baking parchment.
  2. For the brownie Melt the butter and chocolate on the back of the Aga
  3. When melted mix with the sugar then the eggs. Add the flour and cocoa powder and combine the Ingredients gently. Set to one side.
  4. Next make the peanut butter swirl in a separate bowl by popping all the ingredients in together and mixing well
  5. Spoon about one third of the mixture into the tin and spread evenly, dollop a few teaspoons of the peanut butter mix.
  6. Top with the remaining mixture and level. Dollop the remaining peanut butter and swirl with a pallet knife to marble.
  7. Hang on the bottom set of runners in the Aga baking oven or in a 2 oven Aga on the bottom set of runners in the roasting oven
  8. With the cold shelf above for 35-40 minutes until a hard crust has formed.
  9. Leave to cool completely before cutting.
