Banana and Chocolate Chip Traybake – Aga Recipe

A great way to use up over ripe bananas in this simple, quick and tasty traybake cooked to perfection in the Aga cooker. The sweet banana is balanced with the dark chocolate chips and is a must with your sunday morning coffee.


  • 6oz Baking margerine
  • 9oz caster sugar
  • 12oz Self raising flour
  • 2 TSP Baking powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed with a fork
  • 3 TBSP Milk
  • 3oz Dark Chocolate chips


  1. Measure out ingredients and mix together in a bowl until smooth
  2. Pour into a small roasting tin
  3. Place on a grid shelf on the floor of baking oven
  4. Bake for 30 – 35 mins
  5. Check at 20mins If getting too brown slide cold shelf onto 2nd set of runners
