Aga & Spillers...The Early Years

Spillers Family PhotoThe Aga and Spillers connection began when the family run business was founded in Taunton (Somerset's county town) by John Spiller in 1840. John's son, Henry James, was twice Taunton's mayor, and his grandson, Reginald George became the driving force that propelled the enterprise forward.

Originally proprietor of the family building company, Reginald or 'RG' as he was always known, was a man of vision and talent. RG admired the drive and tenacity of Gustav Dahlin. This blind man that invented the Aga in Sweden and was one of the select few entrepreneurs that became Aga dealers in 1932 - his name is inscribed on a commemorative teapot kept at the Aga factory to this day.

Without a son and heir however, the Spillers name has disappeared by marriage, leaving the Durie and RG's two great grandsons to continue the Aga tradition of excellence and service into the 21st Century, making Spillers one of the most well respected Aga dealers in the UK.

Who Are Spillers

Russell and Robin DurieA small country town in the heart of the supposedly sleepy English West Country is an unlikely place to uncover a tantalising secret.
