aga Total Control Features

TOTAL CONTROL FEATURES

The Aga Total Control adjusts to your lifestyle, you choose exactly which functions of the cooker you want to use. Unlike the Heat Storage Aga cooker which is on all the time, the Total Control allows the user to individually control each oven or hotplate.

Ovens can be programmed to come using a remote control (similar to the AIMS controller) which can be mounted on the wall or stored elsewhere. Heat up times and and energy consumption have both been significantly reduced.

Aga Total Control Hotplates

The Boiling plate reaches the target temperature (330 degrees c) in 10 minutes from cold, while the simmering plate will achieve the target temperature (200 degrees c) in just 8 minutes.

Total Control Ovens

The roasting oven reaches full temperature (240 degrees c) in 30 minutes from cold, while the baking oven will achieve full temperature (i85 degrees c) in just 22 minutes. The simmering oven will reach full temperature (100 degrees c) in 35 minutes. There is no need to rotate trays/tins/shelves around with precisely balanced heat in the ovens.

How the Ovens Work

In the two hottest ovens, powerfull heating elements embedded in the cast iron top and bottom panels heat up when the oven is first turned on. Together these heat the air within the oven cavitiy and this super heated air in turn allows the adjacent cast iron panels heat and store energy. During this heating period it is not possible to commence cooking, as this would interfere with the heat distribution.

Fuel Saving

The Total Control offers energy savings from 100% (if you are on holiday and switch it off!), to zero if you run it on full all the time versus the standard 13 AMP Electric AGA. Fuel savings are completely dependant on how the Total Control is used. The major energy saving will come from using the hotplates seperately as the hotplates are the area from which heat is principally lost from a traditional AGA.
