aga Choosing Aga Fuel Types

CHOOSING AGA FUEL TYPES

Aganomics Aga cooker running costs

Like a traditional baker’s brick oven, the Aga’s kind-to-food all-round radiant heat can help you create feather-light pastries, cakes that are always wonderfully moist and breads that have that authentic hearth-baked flavour.

Oil

The oil fired Aga of today is in fact quite similar to the first oil Aga introduced in 1959. Of course, certain parts have been improved and upgraded over the years, but the fundamentals of the tried and tested vaporising burner have thankfully remained intact.

Modern thermostats regulate the Aga temperature and ensure oil is only used when necessary. For example, throughout the night and during times when no cooking is taking place, the burner will reduce from high to low fire, therefore saving energy.

Weekly Fuel Consumption (Oil)
Two Oven Aga (without water heating)
40 litres
Two Oven Aga (with water heating)
60 litres
Four Oven Aga (without water heating)
51 litres
Four Oven Aga (with water heating)
68 litres

Gas or Propane

The Gas Aga is extremely clean burning and available with either a Conventional, Balanced or Powered Flue. This flexibility makes installation in numerous different positions a possibility.

Some Gas models are now available with AIMS, the new intelligent management system which allows energy savings of up to 20%. Using a simple remote control, the Aga can be programmed to sleep when you sleep and be ready to cook only when necessary.

Weekly Fuel Consumption (Gas or Propane)
Two Oven Aga (without water heating)* 340kW (Propane 48 litres)
Two Oven Aga (with water heating) 601kW (Propane 84 litres)
Three Oven Aga (without water heating)* 340kW (Propane 48 litres)
Four Oven Aga (without water heating)* 422kW (Propane 60 litres)
Four Oven Aga (with water heating) 718kW (Propane 101 litres)
*These figures include a 20% AIMS reduction in fuel consumption

Off-Peak Electric

The 30amp Electric Aga has been part of the Aga family for over 20 years. This energy saving, revolutionary cooker is extremely popular, thanks to the unique way in which it operates. Similar to a giant battery, this model acquires heat utilising cheap ‘off peak’ electricity, storing the energy for use only when needed. A fabulous tried and tested ‘efficient’ method that will shave pounds off your fuel bill.

Weekly Fuel Consumption (Off Peak Electric)
Two Oven Aga (without water heating)* 224kW
Four Oven Aga (without water heating)* 273kW

13amp Electricity

The 13amp Electric model is the latest addition to the Aga collection. Fitted as standard with AIMS (the new remote control management system), this ‘intelligent’ Aga will sleep when you sleep and when you want to cook, the Aga will be ready and waiting.

Installation is particularly straight forward, with almost any kitchen position being possible. To double check, why not book a free Aga Home Survey and see just how easily an Aga will fit into your life.

Weekly Fuel Consumption (13amp Electric)
Two Oven Aga (without water heating)* 165kW
Three Oven Aga (without water heating)* 190kW
Four Oven Aga (without water heating)* 200kW
*These figures include a 20% AIMS reduction in fuel consumption
